It turns out that Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election has begun phase two. The special counsel will now be interviewing White House officials.
If the Russian investigation wasn’t distracting enough for the White House, now it’s even worse. Mueller is having talks with many old and new senior administration officials, including the recently ousted White House chief of staff, Reince Priebus according to the New York Times.
Mueller is asking them about specific details on meeting and who attended them. However, one of the biggest things he is looking into in the White House is about the president’s decision to fire James Comey. Mr. Mueller believes that Trump obstructed justice when he fired Comey, and now he’s looking for something he can call evidence to “prove” it.
These past few weeks, Mueller’s investigation has seemed to intensify, as just late last month he took the step to execute a search warrant for Paul Manafort, Trump’s former campaign chairman. Mueller then had the FBI raided his home.

In the wake of all the legal drama, Manafort has decided to switch legal teams. A spokesman said, Mr. Manafort is in the process of retaining his former counsel, Miller & Chevalier, to represent him in the office of special counsel investigation. As of today, WilmerHale no longer represents Mr. Manafort.
The New York times has said the FBI seized “tax documents and foreign banking records” from the home of Manafort.
#firemueller – this is a HUGE distraction! (And a waste of money)
