This is heartbreaking and patriotic and puts Frederica Wilson to shame. It also clearly shows the difference in American generations.
We cannot stop the future, however grim, but we can look back at fondness for what we’ve lost.
The kind of American’s this country used to produce. They are missed are they not?
Now… We have Kaepernick and Frederica Wilson.
And a new letter written by Roberta McCain, John McCain’s mother, to LBJ shows just how far we have fallen as a nation.
She wrote this letter after he was captured and while he was a POW. All I can say is wow.
From the New York Post:
“As the parent of a son who was shot down in Hanoi, last week, and is now a prisoner-of-war, I wonder if you are interested to know that both my husband and I back you and your policies 100 percent in Vietnam? One reads so much of other opinions, that I just hope that you know the people really making the sacrifice, believe in our country and in you. May God bless you and keep you strong in your courage and convictions…Yours sincerely, Roberta McCain.”
We certainly don’t make them like that anymore. And it is a shame.

We have gone soft as a country. We make everything about politics and it is a race to the gutter – on both sides.
We forget sometimes, when we think guys like John McCain need a nudge in the right direction, that he sacrificed and he is only doing what he thinks is right.
Roberta McCain, is amazingly still alive at the ripe old age of 105 and we hope Frederica and the rest will read her wise words. We can all learn a lot from them.
